One of Them

Here’s my predictions for tonight’s ep of Lost:

We know from the previews and the official podcast that:

• The Losties capture one of the others in one of Danielle Rousseau’s traps
• Sayid totures the Other for information
• The timer runs all the way down when the Losties fail to hit the button on time

I can’t say what flows from the first two, but I know what I think will happen regarding the countdown. It seems almost a given that the clock will expire at the very end of the episode and that we won’t know what happens until at least next week. Beyond that, I think there re two eventual possibilities:

Something happens with the electromagnetic field in the hatch. What, I have no idea.

OR…

Something happens that is not readily apparent to the Losties for quite a while. It may even appear that nothing happens at all, but there will be some kind of unseen consequence. This theory resonates with me better than the first.
