Harry Browne Liberated from Government Control

In the 2000 presidential election, I voted for Libertarian Party candidate Harry Browne. Today we learn that Mr. Browne has died.

Browne was a champion of smaller government and larger liberty. As a presidential candidate, he brought important attention to issues that the other candidates simply wouldn’t discuss. I cannot say, in retrospect, how he would have handled the events of September 11, 2001, and that in part is why I did not vote for the Libertarian candidate in 2004.

Browne apparently suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
