He’s also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Public Service Medal, the National Academy of Sciences’ highest honor, and the Rotary International Award for World Understanding and Peace.

Today, the U.S. House of Representative has voted to award its highest civilian honor to Dr. Norman E. Borlaug, who not only is the world’s greatest food scientist, but if you measure in terms of impact, he may be the world’s greatest human being.
