A Letter to Hon. Laurel Lee
Published on June 14, 2025
We didn’t attend any of today’s No Kings protests.
Instead, I’ve written this letter to my Congressional representative.
I hope she reads it. I hope she responds.

U.S. Representative Laurel Lee
2464 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Representative Lee:
You have served as a lawyer, judge, Florida Secretary of State, and now as a member of Congress. At least four times, probably more, you have sworn an oath to support the Constitution of the United States of America, and at least twice, you have sworn to protect it.
And as a lawyer, former judge, and government official, you are already aware of the numerous efforts by this administration to subvert and weaken the U.S. Constitution. You do not need me to give you examples, and you do not need me to persuade you that this administration has deliberately sought to expand its own power at the expense of the legislative and judicial branches, and at the expense of the people it purports to serve.
As your constituent, I would like to know more about what you have done to support and protect our Constitution from the threat posed by this administration.
- Have you spoken out on the House floor or elsewhere in protest?
- Have you proposed, sponsored, or supported legislation to counter these threats?
- Have you voted against legislative proposals that would undermine the Constitution or consolidate power in a runaway Executive Branch?
- Have you participated in Congressional oversight of Executive Branch abuses?
- Have you sought to oppose impoundment of funds or to guarantee that funds appropriated by Congress have been spent properly?
- Have you learned of any acts that would justify a vote for impeachment of any member of the Executive Branch? If so, how have you acted to support such a vote?
- Is there anything else you have done to support the Constitution or protect it from threats?
Because of the oath you took, I am confident you will be able to provide a long list of ways you have supported and protected our Constitution. I look forward to your response.
Yours truly,
Michael Alex Wasylik
